Das soll schon die Synchronisation nicht anhalten. Hier wäre wichtig wie genau dem Synchronisationstool eingerichtet wird, sodass die gewünschten Informationen im Cloud synchronisiert werden. Teste bitte diese
Anleitung zu folgen und am
diesen Schritt
auswähle E-Mail-Attribut. So wird den Wert für E-Mail-Attribut des lokalen Benutzers für die UPN in der Cloud verwendet. Wenn die UPN für die Office 365 Benutzer bereits gesetzt sind, wird deine …onmicrosoft.com Domäne verwendet.

Den Artikel habe ich gelesen und auch den weiterführenden Artikel zur Anbindung der on-premises .local Domain

azure.microsoft.com/.../ Eine .local Domain sollte also nicht "mehr" als Name verwendet werden und ohne Anbindung an Azure erfolgt auch keine
Synchronisierung von der on-premises Domain mit der in Office365.

 Wenn die synchronisierte Benutzer eine @onmicrosoft.com Domäne im Cloud haben, d.h du hast keine Domäne in deiner AD registriert und so wird automatisch die onmicrosoft.com Domäne in Cloud generiert. Bitte prüf die Information über SMTP Matching Soft un Hardmatching in Azure AD Connect.

I believe the API you are using needs access to Azure Active Directory, but you would need to consult with the documentation to confirm this, or a software developer for further assistance.
