Excel does not accept the date when I enter it like this "1.1.23"

Hello guys, unfortunately I have a formatting problem with my MS Excel. I just recently changed laptops which is why I discovered the problem on the new laptop. When I enter a date, Excel does not recognize it as such. Eventhough when I beforehand change the formatting to "DATE" it does not take it as a date unless I type it in like "1/1/23" or "1-1-23". 1.1.23 does not work and it just stays there as text. I recorded two videos both of my old laptop, where the problem doesnt exist Works and on my new laptop, where I have the problem Doesnt work. I would appreciate any help a lot. Thanks a

The intl.cpl settings were set to English instead of German....

Hi,
ich habe in den Sprachsettings "Deutsch" eingestellt.
Betriebssystem ebenfalls auf Deutsch...

was ist in den Excel Optionen bei Sprache eingestellt?
Ein Sprache des Betriebssystems ist deutsch?
Oder ist noch etwas anderes eingestellt?

Enter a ' character in the cell and then the very long number does that stop Excel formatting the number like that?

For example, if you are entering 123456789 in a cell, enter '123456789
