How can I set ALL Word docs to open in an editable mode?

How can I permanently set Word so that all docs open in an editable mode, please?Like the good old days!

To disable the protected view:

a. Open Microsoft word.
b. Click File and select Options.
c. Click Trust Center and click Trust center options.
d. Click Protected view.
e. Disable all the checkboxes you find there.
f. Restart word.
