I cant login anymore to my onedrive and find no more file

As I'm not longer an employee of this company and the company itself isn't existing anymore I thought I can copy/move my files and folders to my private OneDrive-Space.
That is really very very bad......but anyway: Thanks for your information !

I ran the following test:

I took a .docx file I created on my office PC which was stored on our server and saved it locally to my PC harddrive. I then save a copy as .doc as well. Then I emailed both files to my office Outlook account AND my iCloud account (with one email).

BOTH files did NOT open from my Outlook account and BOTH files just opened fine from my iCloud account.

I then forwarded the email from my Outlook account to my iCloud account and now BOTH files did NOT open anymore.

So it seems that my Outlook account (Exchange server) corrupts the files.

Can that be?

I've already installed and set up OneDrive on my Mac. Unfortunately, step No. 5 doesn't exist under my OneDrive settings. It only shows Files that are already in OneDrive.
Do you know if there is another way to choose files to synchronise permanently?

Dear Renzo, to start with let me thank you for your your time you have spent and for your proposals! I appreciate your help very much!
I ran through the steps you have proposed similarly to what the MS OneDrive gents had suggested before. A new step for me was the deletion of folders in the registry, that you proposed. Additional I shutdown the computer before installing the software anew. Finally the icon in the systray was back again and I tried to login. This time nothing happened; no window opened in order to request my login data (account name and Password). The process explorer showed an entry for OneDrive but with no activity and I/O. Restart here didn't work either. In earlier attempts the login window came up and allowed to enter the respective information. However, subsequently another window showed up indicating "loading . . . ". And that stayed forever.
<br />Yes, from other computers my OneDrive is still available, also, via the computer in question with OneDrive.live . . .
I wonder whether there is a way to shift my installation to a non corrupted account. However, the same account is installed on other computers . . .

If the company does not exist anymore and the admin portal is closed, then you will not be able to gain access to the onedrive anymore.

I am so sorry about this.
