Important messages end up in Junk folder

Hi Martin

What are the names of the "Sent Messages" and "Deleted Messages" folders in German iCloud?

Also Drafts and Junk Email?

Or are you using English iCloud with German Outlook?

Iam using german iCloud with german Outlook 2016.

The names of the folders are:

Outlook (Folder) - iCloud Mail (IMAP Folder)

- Posteingang - Eingang (all ok)

- Gesendet - Sent Messages (false in Outlook, must be "Sent Messages" not "Gesendet")

- Drafts - Entwürfe (all ok), but in Outlook it is a folder "Entwürfe" too, but it will be not used and I can't delete it in Outlook, if I delete it, 3 seconds later it is back.

- Papierkorb - Deleted Messages (named in iCloud "Papierkorb" - false in Outlook, must be "Deleted Messages". It is a folder "Gelöschte Elemente" in Outlook too an its not used, if I delete it, 3 seconds later it is back.

- Junk - Werbung (all ok)

- Archive - Archiv (all ok)

Hi Franz,

You need to log into Outlook on the web from a desktop computer and find and rename the folders that are conflicting. It's usually the Junk email folder, if the message doesnt say which folder. Right click on the folder to rename it - if rename is grayed out,
that is the default folder. Look for the second one.

As an FYI if the mail is missing from the shared side but are in the owners folder: right click on the folder and choose Properties. Then click Clear offline items. This will resync the folder when you are using cached mode.

If the messages are on the shared side but did not sync up to the owner's mailbox, you need to select the messages and copy them to a new folder. I would never 'move' - only copy.

If you right click on the folder, choose Properties then Folder size - is it 0?

It's possible the missing messages are in the purges folder, but it depends on the configuration of your exchange server.

If the shared folder was cached on user1's side, there is a possibility that the messages are in the cache, but AFAIK, ost recovery software can't 'see' it. I have a list of recommended software here -

Haben die E-Mails Anhänge? Wenn ja, dann welche Dateitypen?



Es wäre am besten, wenn der Administrator deiner Office 365 Organisation die betroffene Domäne in der Liste der Sicheren Absender in Exchange Admin Center hinzufügt.
