Issues Opening PPTX Files from a WebDAV Server

For a few weeks now, PowerPoint has been displaying the following error message when I try to open a pptx file from a WebDAV server via a UNC path. However, I can read and write the data using any other program via the UNC path. Copying via Explorer is also no problem, and the local copy can then be opened by PowerPoint without any issues.I haven’t encountered this problem with any other Office product e.g., Word or Excel, even though the files are located on the same WebDAV server.Interestingly, there is absolutely no problem when I provide PowerPoint with the corresponding HTTP URL for the

Thanks, Berns! I tried that before but the problem is that the file in question is saved on a server. Is it possible to move such a file to a HTTP or HTTPS location and apply the procedure from there?

If you are seeing Save Copy, you are operating with a document on OneDrive or SharePoint.

Try using Word on a file saved to your hard drive rather than the cloud. Any difference?

Try the F12 key if you are running a desktop version. Try that before the idea of saving and opening from the computer.

Thanks for your reply. After opening the "Finder" and opening "Home" from the "Go" menu, there is no "Library". Am I searching in the wrong place? I also tried searching for the file "com.microsoft.Word.plist" via "Go to Folder", but it could not be found.

I ran the following test:

I took a .docx file I created on my office PC which was stored on our server and saved it locally to my PC harddrive. I then save a copy as .doc as well. Then I emailed both files to my office Outlook account AND my iCloud account (with one email).

BOTH files did NOT open from my Outlook account and BOTH files just opened fine from my iCloud account.

I then forwarded the email from my Outlook account to my iCloud account and now BOTH files did NOT open anymore.

So it seems that my Outlook account (Exchange server) corrupts the files.

Can that be?
