Microsoft Pinyin with QWERTZ keyboard

I want to use Microsoft Pinyin with my QWERTZ keyboard. I can't find any option set the keyboard layout manually. I tried updating the registry and changing the keyboard library kbdus.dll to kbdgr.dll at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Input\Locales\loc_0804" which is the locale for zh-cn, where microsoft pinyin settings are also stored, but that hasn't changed anything either. Is this option simply not available? I want to be able to type chinese characters using my QWERTZ keyboard, and not have to think about pressing Y when I want to type Z.
