New Outlook only showing new email when pressing on inbox

i use the newest version of both: outlook is the newest version and my mac also is updated to the newest. outlook still greyed out when i want to add a task.

Do not understand the questions if you are using Outlook '2019. The screenshot in my previous reply follow the required steps. If that is not what you are seeing when you create a new email message, please provide a screenshot of what you encounter when you create a new email message as was described before starting the numbered steps

In order to send a <Contact Group> to someone else is as follows when creating a new message

When you added the Outlook.com account to outlook, it should be added as an exchange account - and you'll have two calendars - the old one you used before and the new one in outlook.com.

When you change the view on the old one to list view - outlook is usually goofy and first changes the view on the default calendar (which is now outlook.com's) - select the old calendar again and change the view to list view.

And if I move it to the outlook.com calender I can access them via outlook.com/phone, but I am still not sure what happens when I add stuff to the new outlook.com calender in my outlook desktop client when I don't have internet access.

It's based on the channel and build. "Coming soon" is rolling out as a permanent change - if you have the navigation bar on the left and don't have the button, it was changed on your install and you won't have the ability to turn it off.
<br />In my test systems on the current channel (Version 2208 Build15601.20148), some have the Coming soon button, some no longer do.

<br />The What's New button should be live in all builds - It should also be on the Help menu. I've seen it disabled if there are no new things to report. Do you have Connected Experiences turned off in File > Account Settings > Manage Settings button under Privacy heading? That could affect What's new not showing content.
<br />"Try the New Outlook" is in the Beta channel - it might be in "Current Channel (Preview)", I need to update one of my test systems to the preview channel to check. It is not in Current Channel.
