Office 2019 Licence

I have trouble with my Microsoft Office 2019. Since I just got a new laptop I wanted to download and install office on the new laptop but after trying a lot of different things I still wasn't able to activate it. When I first got my old laptop my parents gave me Office 2019 as a present so I don't have the product key at hand and I asked my parents but they don't seem to remember if they still have it. After a long internet search and going through many of the Microsoft Support articles I am now at my wit's end. I tried everything:

First I, of course, logged into my Microsoft account since they said that the licence would be transferable easily through the account. That didn't work at all.

After that, I logged into Microsoft online Office. There all the online versions of Word and so on work but it still didn't help me transferring the licence even though some articles said it would.

After that, I tried downloading a licence key reader to read out the licence key but that as well didn't work since for whatever reason those programmes only read out my Windows 10 licence key and not the Office 2019 key.

Next, I tried the deinstallation of Office 365 and re-installing Office form my Microsoft account which Microsoft recommends but since I still can't read out the licence key and for some reason, the Office 2019 licence key is not registered with my Microsoft account it didn't work either.



My Office 2019 is linked to my Microsoft account and I am logged in with the same account in Word, PowerPoint and Exel. Microsoft online Office is even reading out data from those programmes on my old computer but if I try to licence Office 2019 on my new laptop it is as if Office 2019 never existed.



If anyone knows how to transfer the licence please let me know.
