Outlook contacts categories not syncing anymore between Outlook desktop app and Outlook online

<br />Both are up to date.
<br />I generated an app password but it is NOT configurable in my iphone settings. Neither can i configure it in the standard process for setting up outlook mobile. Because outlook uses the google login for adding google accounts. And in the google login the app password isn’t accepted. It would only accept the real account password at this place.
<br />There is a way to apply the app password: if i configure outlook not by „google email“ but by „manually“ configure an „imap“ account, where all server information including (ports) is asked. At this place i can enter the app password for both IMAP and SMTP manually and it would accept it. However that does NOT help! Because it will restrict other functions: contacts! I use my google account for contacts and if i configure the mail account manually via imap then i won’t be able to select my google account in the „contacts“ field of outlook mobile.
<br />Basically this whole „app password“ thing is not a legit approach. It‘s more like a workaround. It looks like you are offering it as an excuse for not having a proper explanation/solution.
<br />Basically what i want to know is if google is not compatible with outlook mobile (anymore). And if so then WHAT is the issue? Can and will it be resolved? And WHEN will it be resolved? If you can’t (or don’t want to) answer these basic Questions, that’s fine, just let me know. I will then delete outlook mobile and find a different app which meets my requirements. Thanks for your understanding.

Schade dass das so ist, aber ich habe einen Feature Request plaziert um das Feature "Synchronizes Calendar, Mail, Tasks, Notes, Categories, and Contacts with Microsoft accounts (Outlook.com)" für Mac zu implementieren

Moreover i can still use categories with outlook standalone app ( no exchange) and imap account if i create an pseudo task with an category and assign an first mail then i can sort by categories.
<br />The drawback is, that im not able to drag and drop from the categories view on the right i have to do this from the inbox view.

vielen Dank für deine Bemühungen.

Weil ich genauere Angaben machen wollte, und deine Fragen richtig beantworten, habe mich am Wochenende mit der Problematik beschäftigt und vielleicht doch noch eine Lösung gefunden.

Weiter unten findest du die Antworten auf deinen Fragen und die Beschreibung der Probleme und wie ich diese gelöst habe.

Hoffentlich funktioniert, sonst werde ich dich wieder belästigen…

Outlook Synchronisationsprobleme.

Habe zuerst die Fragen beantwortet und dann eine Auflistung der Problematik.

1. Meinst Du Outlook Office auf dem Desktop oder die App für Windows 10?

Das Problem habe ich im Outlook 2016 (Office Home & Business 2016) auf dem Desktop nicht auf die App (Microsoft Outlook – Version 2.12.0) am iPhone 5

1. Welches Windows oder Mac-Version benutzt Du?

Am Desktop: Windows 10

1. Welche Outlook-Einstellungen hast Du (IMAP,POP3, Exchange, Exchange Active synch et.c)

Weiß ich nicht J. Nehme an, Microsoft Exchange. Unten rechts steht: Verbunden mit Microsoft Exchange

Wenn ich auf Kontoinformationen gehe steht unter meiner E-Mai Adresse auch Microsoft Exchange

1. Seit wann besteht das Problem und hat es vorher normal funktioniert?

Seit Anfang an:

Desktop und Programme habe ich in Dez. 2016 neu gekauft.

Am Anfang habe ich meine Emails über die „live“ Homepage bearbeitet – www.outlook.live.com

Dann iPhone angeschlossen

Mit iTunes die Daten Synchronisiert bzw. hinüber kopiert.

Dann auf Outlook 2016 gewechselt.

Bei Contacts habe ich seitdem 2 Listen (die „automatisch“ eingerichtet wurden, nicht von mir…):

RB Contacts, (so habe ich sie umbenannt): Das sind alle die Kontakte die auf dem iPhone sind und die ich nur auf dem iPhone bearbeiten/ändern kann.
Nicht auf dem Desktop.

und

Contacts: dass sind alle die Kontakte die ich auf Outlook live habe. Diese kann ich auf dem Desktop problemlos bearbeiten/ändern. Da habe ich ein anderes Problem: Erkläre ich nachher.

1. Bitte gib uns eine Schritt-für-Schritt übersicht wie Du vorgehst bzw. was genau Du klickst, wenn Du versuchst Änderungen an den Kontakten vorzunehmen.

Ich gehe auf Meine Kontakte und dann auf clicke ich auf RB Contacts

Doppelklicke irgendeine Kartei die ich ändern will

Tippe dann die Änderungen hinein

Gehe dann auf speichern und dann zeigt mir

„Änderungen am Inhalt dieses schreibgeschützten Ordners sind nicht möglich“

Muss ich auf OK klicken, dann auf Datei schließen und auf Änderung speichern „Nein“…

Wenn ich neue Kontakte machen möchte, d.h. „Neuer Kontakt“ klicke steht dann:

Sie besitzen nicht die Berechtigung, um in diesem Ordner einen Eintrag zu erstellen. Um Ihre Berechtigung für den Ordner zu überprüfen, klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf den Ordner und klicken Sie dann auf „Eigenschaften“. Wenden Sie sich an den
Eigentümer des Ordners oder an Ihren Administrator, um Ihre Berechtigung zu ändern.

Meine Lösung

Habe gemerkt, dass die Probleme nur mit „RB Contacts“ sind.

Bei „Contacts“ kann ich alles machen. Sowohl am iPhone als am Desktop.

Das Problem war, dass ich am Desktop

bei „Contacts“ 323Kontakte hatte

bei „RB Contacts“ 843“

aber am iPhone 1220.

Habe dann alle die Kontakte die ich brauchte von „RB Contacts“ markiert und zu „Contacts“ hinüber kopiert (linke Maustaste – Verschieben – in Ordner kopieren.)

Das hat funktioniert und die kopierten Kontakte kann ich auch bearbeiten.

„RB Contacts“ habe ich noch nicht gelöscht. Möchte es noch behalten und beobachten was los ist.

Habe dann die gesamte Outlook Datei (backup.pst) auf eine externe Festplatte gesichert.
