The new Outlook for Mac: Contacts; stripped functionality?

Hallo zusammen,



ich habe das auch schon im englischsprachigen "answers" gepostet, aber bisher keine Antwort bekommen, daher poste ich noch mal hier, ich geh jetzt mal davon aus, dass alle der englischen Sprache mächtig sind und verzichte jetzt ins deutsche zu übersetzen.

Ich habe mal folgenden Test durchgeführt:



I use microsoft "outlook connector" with Outlook 2007 (32Bit). Outlook Connector Version is 14.0.5117.5000 (32Bit)

Test Case one: I create a new Contact in my Outlook 2007 in my Contact list from Windows Live

Birthday is set to 24.02.2011

Outlook automatically creates the Outlook Calendar Event for this birthday ON 24.02.2011

I wait some minutes until the Outlook Connector has syncronized with Microsoft Live Server - then i wait again some minutes for the Re synchronization - then you can see - surprise surprise - the birthday changed to 23.02.2011. The calender entry and the
Contact Birthday information have changed to 23.02.2011. This is repeatable/reproduceable!



Test Case two:

I create a new Contact in Windows Live (online)

Birthday 24.02.2011

After the sync i can see that the birthday DOES NOT change. But Windows live does not automatically create the entry for the calendar.



Vielleicht kann das ja mal jemand testen der Outlook 2010 installiert hat. Vielleicht verhält es sich da ja wieder anders. Die Zeitzone hab ich auf live.de angepasst - muss ich noch was in Outlook selbst einstellen? (Ich geh davon aus, das Outlook 2007 die
Zeitzone von Windows 7 nutzt)

eine Lösung habe ich nicht, aber Gabriel Bratton (MSFT) schrieb
im englischen TechNet:



"Thanks for posting your feedback. The To-Do-Bar functionality was changed in Outlook 2013 to use the new Peek pinning
feature. We have recieved lots of other feedback to add next day meetings to the Calendar Peek. Hopefully this functionality can be added in a future update."



Mit anderen Worten: Das Kalender-Popup in Outlook 2013 kann aktuell wirklich nur Termine des aktuellen Tages anzeigen. Evtl. wird die Funktionalität aus früheren Versionen mit einem Update wieder nachgerüstet. Man kann es nur hoffen...

Well, it doesn't. Let me tell you what does work:
1) backup your contacts to a .pst file
2) export your contacts to an Excel file
3) select and delete all your contacts
4) import the Excel file into your Contacts folder
5) copy the new contacts into the Contacts folder under your live account
6) sit back and enjoy the fact that now ALL contacts are synchronized with your live account
7) replace the contacts in your Personal folders with the back up (if you are afraid of data-loss and/or want to keep a file for your history - from now on you're going to use the contacts from your Live account folder)

What you need to do is contact support so they can reactivate it for you.

The Office key is seeing the new installation as a new machine thats why. Only manual activation support can work around this.

You might not be able to reach a live agent until tomorrow. So, its best you wait until Monday.
