Use Product key

Hi all, I've got for Project 2016 and Vision 2016 two product keys. But I can't use them both. I got an error message that the product key is for the volume-licensed based version of Microsoft Project or Microsoft Visio. What can I do? Also on the laptop the Office2021 Version is installed.

Hello Zenkel,

Thank you for coming to the forum.

The problem could be two things:

1) You have the wrong key or wrong installation.

Since the key is volume licensed, I believe it was given to you by the company you work for. To get the right key, I believe you will need to log into the Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC).

So if the problem is the key and you have the right installation media, then you can read about how to deploy the installation with the key from the link here: https://learn.microsoft.com/deployoffice/vlactivation/activate-office-by-using-mak

Scroll down in the link above to Office 2016 by using MAK (Multiple Activation Key)

2) the key itself is no longer active.

If the above is the issue, you can contact Microsoft Support for aid follow the below steps exactly:

Sign in to your Microsoft account on your browser and click the link below for support
https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

> Microsoft 365
> Click on Get Home Support
> In the box shown type "Activation" and choose any of the options shown to you
> Now scroll down and click Contact Support (near the bottom a little to the left of the center)
> In the next screen it will ask for more details (fill in as appropriate)
> In products and services: select Microsoft 365 and office
> In category select: Activate my product
> Click confirm
> Click Chat with a support agent in your browser

es ist ein Microsoft professional plus-Paket im Rahmen des Home use Programms. Die Lizenzierung erfolgt via Product key

Hallo Thomas,

den Product Key habe ich über das Microsoft Home Use Programm über digitalriver erhalten. Die Installations-CD hatte ich damals auch bestellt, aber leider verlegt. Nun will ich die Anwendung auf meinem neuen Rechner erneut installieren.

Hallo,

Die Lösung war, dass es über das Home use Programm scheinbar nur noch die Office 365 Version gibt.

Oben auf den Link zum Kundendienst des Microsoft Home Use Program gehen und einen Chat aufmachen.

Der Mitarbeiter im Chat hat dann den Product Key an die Firmenemail geschickt.

Danach hat er per Fernwartung auf meinem Privat-PC Office aktiviert.

War dann nur ne Sache von ein paar Minuten.
