Wenn man OneDrive mit dem Office Anwendungen nutzen kann, ist das keine Angelegenheit, sondern Design. Da sind bereits einige Verbesserungsideen dafür im UserVoice, aber keinen Entwickler hat kommentiert und möglicherweise wird diese Funktion nicht implementiert.

Your reply does not really touch my problem: It actually WAS possible to open files stored on OneDrive e.g. from the files app. But as of the last update this possibility seems to be removed.
<br />Please don't tell me that Microsoft does not want the users to use use OneDrive as a generic file sharing cloud! This must be a bug! And – as I told you before – it's new!
<br />Some weeks ago, there wasn't any problem to import e.g. a pdf stored on OneDrive from the GoodNotes app. No, it's become impossible.

It should not be allowing you to enter a password if the account was closed.
I don't know why the account wasn't closed. Since you can't put enough info into the Account Recovery form, I'd try the 'Forgot password' link a few more times. See if a code is sent to you eventually.

Sorry but it would be really helpful if the description of the problem were read properly. It is precisely because it is not possible to do this that I posted here in the first place. When I try to do anything with that account it refuses to let me in and gives the error message that the account name does not exist. It does. Microsoft created it. I have no access to it, that is the problem.
