Excel export stopped working after windows updates

When we use the Excel-export function in our self developed software it gives an error:

Unexpected error from external database driver (1)

This was working fine until the windows updates on 11.10.2017 rolled out. Since then many of our clients reported the same error.

What solved the problem temporarily to remove the updates KB4041681 and KB4041678 . This is however not the optimal solution because now the security updates are missing.

Has someone a different solution to this error? Or hopefully will Microsoft correct this error sometime soon?

du hast ja schon geschrieben, dass du nach Abbyy Finereader gesucht hast und dieses Add-In nicht installiert war. Aber waren noch andere Addins installiert? Wenn ja, dann deinstalliere bzw. deaktiviere diese mal Testweise.

Als nächstes wäre mal die Deaktivierung des Antivirenprogramms und der Deinstallation von Registrycleanern und Tuning-Programmen.

Falls letztere eingesetzt wurden und die Registry "gesäubert" wurde, dann könnte es sein, dass nur noch ein neuer Windows Benutzer weiterhilft.

Hallo Thomas,
danke für die Tipps.
Andere Addins sind - und waren nie - installiert.
Auch mit Deaktiviertem Antivirusprogramm funktioniert es nicht, Tuningprogramme und Registry-Cleaner nutze ich aus Erfahrung lieber nicht - daher wohl das auch nicht.

Der Tipp mit dem neuen Benutzerkonto - eigentlich sehr naheliegend, aber daran hatte ich gar nicht gedacht - klang auch zwar interessant, aber auch auf einem solchen neu angelegten Konto funktioniert es nicht.

Ich glaube langsam mir bleibt nichts anderes, als das Windows komplett neu aufzusetzen...

So, das Problem scheint nun gelöst: da ich mir dachte man kann nichts mehr kaputt machen (ich hätte ja sonst komplett neu installiert) habe ich folgende Schritte durchgeführt, seitdem tritt das Problem nicht mehr auf:

1) Office normal deinstalliert
2) FixIT-Tool
3) Sowohl unter C:\Program Files als auch C:\Program Files (x86) jeweils die Ordner "Microsoft Office" und "Microsoft Office 15" komplett gelöscht
4) In der Registry sowohl unter HKLM/Software/Microsoft als auch HKCU/Software/Microsoft den Kompletten Schlüssel Office
5) Dann neu installiert

Falls also das Problem bei jemand anderem noch auftritt - und nichts anderes hilft! - kann man es also mal probieren, wobei ich es sicher nicht als ersten Versuch der Problemlösung empfehlen kann

Also entweder ist das derzeitige Outlook Profil defekt oder das Antivirenprogramm macht Probleme.

Lege als Erstes mal ein neues
Outlook Profil an und teste dort das Verhalten.
