How to recover my outlook account?

Hello, I had an account that I used for minor things, and I didn't log into it that often. I don't know how long it's been since I last logged in, but when I tried it says that that account doesn't exist, that email address. I tried to create a new account with that email address, but it says that that email address already exists, please help me get my account back because I have important things that I used on that email address.

That is the way how to do for the desktop software.
I would like to change my Sending-Name in the Outlook Android App, especially for my Yahoo-Account what I connected to the App.

<br />Thank you so much! I thought all my data was stored locally in my .pst file, but apparently Outlook did use a Microsoft Exchange Server. I logged on to Outlook Live through my regular Microsoft account, using an email address that is neither a Hotmail nor an Outlook.com address. But when I am logged on to Outlook Live, it does show an outlook.com address, which I don't remember ever creating and which consists of seemingly random letters and numbers. Now I don't know how to add this account to my local Outlook...

Hi Lea, hope you're doing well. I’m Ian, and I’m happy to help you today.

It really depends on how you setup the security of your Microsoft account.

If you assign Microsoft Authenticator or alternative email address then you can get the code thru this way.

If not, you really need your phone to verify your account.

Either way filling the recovery form is the way to recover your account. In my experienced, it took me around 5-7 tries before I recovered my account.

Microsoft recommend following the steps in this order to assist you with resetting your Microsoft account password.
