Native scientific equation numbering

Dear Microsoft Team,

While there are a few work-arounds to get the equation number on the side of the equation like this

E=mc² (1)

instead of

E=mc²

Equation 1: ... .

I still can't believe that there is no native function in Word for this to achieve it with one click like the regular labelling function (especially since it seems so easy in my oponion as a layman...), at least I haven't found it yet.

I don't believe I am the only one requesting this...Is there any chance this feature will ever be implemented? Especially with the improved equation editor this is the last missing feature to make write scientific articles or a thesis much less cumbersome.

vielen dank für die Klärung. Das ist dann mal ein echtes Problem. Mal schauen wie weit mir mit MathType kommen... das gibt echt Wochen an Arbeit das alles umzustellen. Ich bin ja sonst immer ein Verteidiger von Microsoft... aber solche Aktionen lassen mich
dann echt zweifeln ob man da auch wirklich mitdenkt... es wäre doch bestimmt möglich gewesen zunächst einen Converter auf das neue native MS Office Equation Format anzubieten und erst dann den Formeleditor zu entfernen. So ist es echt eine ganze miese Leistung

Ja, eine CSV-Datei unterstützt nur grundlegende Datentypen, wenn Sie die Datei als CSV speichern, die die Nummer wieder in Scientific Notation ändert, wenn Sie die Datei als xlsx speichern, bleibt die Formatierung erhalten?
