OneNote notes lost after Windows Phone reset

Dear community,

I contacted the chat support yesterday: case number 1366355500. They provided me this email: *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** for further support which goes beyond their available tools. Unfortunately, this email does not work neither, it sends me a delivery failure back...

On November 19, I had to reset my windows phone (Nokia Lumia 1020) due to an error which did not allow me to access neither What's App nor the Windows Store App. Prior to the reset I saved my pictures and videos via USB and Windows Explorer on my Windows Computer. Unfortunately, it did not cross my mind to 'save' or somehow duplicate all my notes from my OneNote App on my Windows Phone. After some weeks, I now realized that all my notes which I have created in OneNote on my Windows Phone prior to the reset (over 20), some of them of high importance to me, are not there any more. I can only access notes I created after November 19.

Since I know that every time I access OneNote on my phone, it synchronizes with the Drive, I tried to access or restore the notes on my Computer and Online in my Drive Account and on the installed OneNote 2016 on my PC Desktop. Unfortunately, it did not work... There is nothing in the recycle bin neither, since I did not delete the notes manually.. They just disappeared after the reset of my Windows Phone

Is there any possibility to restore all the notes (as state of Nov. 18) from OneNote from my Windows Phone? It is of high importance to me.

Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass Du von OneNote für Windows 10 sprichst (das ohne Datei-Menü).

Zunächst spricht alles dafür, dass Deine Synchronisation mit OneDrive nicht (mehr) funktioniert. Es hat Leute gegeben, die das jahrelang ignoriert haben. Bis dann die Daten alle weg waren, da nur im lokalen Cache, der aus verschiedenen Gründen verloren gehen
kann. Also: Alarmstufe ROT.

Dann sichere mal die Daten von OneNote in folgendem Verzeichnis

C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Office.OneNote_8wekyb3d8bbwe

AppData ist ein "verstecktes" Verzeichnis.

Kannst Du bei jedem neu installierten OneNote dann zurückschreiben.

Dass das funktioniert, siehst Du hier am Beispiel eines Windows 10 Reset, der dieses Verzeichnis entgegen den (falschen) Erwartungen des Nutzers gelöscht hatte:

Normally when you reset OneNote on a mobile device everything is lost. Have you saved the notes in another location?

Hallo Achim,

ich würde dir in diesem Sinne vorschlagen, das du einen
Backup machst und dann einen
Hard Reset. Melde dich dann wieder bei mir.

Hallo Nicolas,

1. Ich entnehme dass du Windows Phone verwendest? Wenn ja, versuche Soft-Reset: Gleichzeitiges Drücken von On-/Off-Schalter und Leiser-Taste - so lange, bis es vibriert.

Dann wird neu gestartet.

2. Du kannst OneNote auf deinem PC öffnen. Erstelle dann ein neues Notizbuch und kopiere dort die Abschnitte von dem Notizbuch das die Probleme verursacht hat.

3. Versuche auch OneNote Online zu öffnen. Auf diese Weise kannst du eventuell ermitteln, ob das Problem vom Server oder von OneNote verursacht wurde.

Freue mich über ein Feedback, auch wenn die Vorschläge erfolglos waren.
