Searching for file with a specific sha1 hash in onedrive

Hi everyone,

I am trying to search for files with a specific sha1hash to find dublicates befor upliading a file. The documentation tells me that the searchquery will comoared to metadata too. But with my first tries i doesnt got a correct answer.

Is it possible to search for the metadata like sha1hash?

This would be a grrat function.

Unfortunately I can't find the files by searching them or in Word.
1. I don't have an 365 Abo, do you know if I can use the "Reset my whole OneDrive"-function also if I only buy the Abo now? Does it work retroperspectively? If yes, I think this could solve my problem.
2. Do you know what happens with OneDrive files when one overwrites them with "Copy+replace"? This is how I lost my file and still it's not in the bin.

Hi AnnaThomas,
Thanks for your reply. After opening the "Finder" and opening "Home" from the "Go" menu, there is no "Library". Am I searching in the wrong place? I also tried searching for the file "com.microsoft.Word.plist" via "Go to Folder", but it could not be found.

Hi StankoBeronja,

When OneDrive can't sync a file or folder because its name contains invalid characters, OneDrive can sometimes rename it for you.

If OneDrive is able to rename the file or folder, you'll see a Rename option in the notification area. If OneDrive can't rename the file or folder automatically, you'll need to rename it yourself manually.
