Hello René,

You should get the character. We'll try to work out what is happening. However, let us first work on a workaround so that you can produce your symbol.

You can also go to Insert > Symbol > More symbols and type the 211A in the box for uincode. At that point, the symbol will be available. If it is something you use frequently, you can assign a keyboard shortcut or AutoCorrect entry for it.

Are you using a German-language version of Office?

The message you are getting is the one we get in the English language keyboard for Alt+O and is a prefix trigger for prior menu commands that still work.

Is this a problem with one document or all documents or something in between?

Does it happen if you open Word in Safe mode?

Safe mode is not a way to regularly use Word, but it is a valuable diagnostic step. If your problem goes away when you use Safe mode, we can walk you through other steps that may help eliminate the problem. Please write back.

im Dokument musst du Alt + C drücken.

Alt + X wird im Suchen/Ersetzen-Dialogfeld verwendet.

Dann wird Deine Palatino wohl keine Unicode-Schrift sein und Word substituiert diese Sonderzeichen aus Arial.
