Troubleshoot adding email account in Web App. There is simply no option to add a contact...

As I wanted to access the email account *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***, I received a message that this account needed to be confirmed. Now all the information apparently is not enough to prove that my mother is the owner of the account. There is no more information available more that the name of the account holder, the security question and a couple of contacts. There is no xbox account or credit card information given that it was never provided in the first place. There appears to be a verification email address to which my mother nor I know to whom it belongs.
What to do now? Is this account going to be lost forever? there are important email there, and although the password and the account name were correctly introduced we can not get access to it? that is outrageous. To that it can be summed that there is absolutely no contact information provided that could give some insight into the situation.

Could you please give me some insight as to what should we do to gain access to this account again?

Unfortunately there is no option to filter who can try to log into the account. That option simply does not exist.

You may want to consider enabling 2 factor authentication if it is not already.

Unfortunately, you need to contact the university email administrator for this issue.

Educational email accounts are managed/controlled by the institution and not by Microsoft so there is no way to know what the cause of the problem is. In short, there is no way for Microsoft to check anything since they don't control it.

And there is no way to follow the steps you described in your first answer when OneDrive is already installed and set up? To simply choose a folder to be synchronised seems to be the easiest way to me.

I hate to be the hearer of bad news that is only going to add to your frustration but there is only one way to recover an account and that is via the Microsoft Account Recovery form. If that fails after repeated attempts (up to 2 times a day) then the account is effectively lost. There is no way to bypass the form for account recovery.

There is also no point in trying to contact Microsoft Support for an account you cannot access as described at the top of the following article
