Viso Data Visualizer Excel Plugin: How to Duplicate a File

Dear MS Community

I have the following Situation. I have a company Office 365 subscription as well as a Visio Level 1 subscription. I use Viso Data Visualizer Plugin for Excel. I very much like how it works but I have a huge problem with it. How can I just copy a file and work on the new copy without changing the old?

I have customized certain things in Visio, like connectors and such. Now I want to make a copy of the Excel file but also want Office to duplicate the Visio file also. However, whenever a copy of the Excel is made, it connects to the same Viso diagram as the other Excel file. I would prefer to be able to also copy the visio and work on a separate copy for both.

I found some links how to create a template but all these instructions don't work for me. I can't seem to export such a template neither from Viso nor for Excel.

I buy the way also have a desktop Visio Pro license but it does not allow me to use desktop Visio on Visio Plan 1 in conjunction with this plugin.

But there must be a way to just duplicate a file, no?

Das ist genau das, was ich gerne machen möchte aber die Formel funktioniert halt nicht in 2016 :-/

nun ja, für mich ist es eben nicht sinn- und zweckfrei, einen relativen Pfad anzugeben. In einer aktuellen Aufgabenstellung kämpfe ich mit diesem Problem halt auch ein wenig.

Ich habe ein ganzes Set von Serienbriefhauptdokumenten, die auf ein Excel-File zugreifen, welches im gleichen Ordner liegt. Dieses Set von Dateien inkl dem Excel-File wird immer wieder in einer identisch gestalteten, aber neuen Ordnerstruktur verwendet, in
der nur der Ordner auf der Obersten Ebene des Filesystems einen anderen Namen hat..

hier findest du sowohl eine VBA-Lösung als auch eine Möglichkeit, die XML-Dateien zu modifizieren:

die Makro-Lösung habe ich gleich auf dem relevanten Rechner - noch mit Office 2003 - ausprobiert. Klappt prima. Das Makro habe ich dann als Symbolleiste eingebunden. Das verbessert dann noch die Usability.

Die XML-Lösung werde ich mir wohlweislich für meinen eigenen Rechner mit Office 2010 merken.
