ich habe noch Works-Dateien auf einem USB-Stick, die ich seit einem Update im letzten Jahr, unter Windows 10 nicht mehr aufrufen kann. Kann ich diese Dateien irgendwie retten und wenn ja, wie?

Hallo Peter,

ich habe mir inzwischen "Works 9"gekauft. Das sollte ja der erste Schritt sein zu meinem Wunsch, die alten Works-Dateien in Excel 2007 zu konvertieren. Aber es ist zum verzweifeln. Das neuste Works kann die Dateien vom alten Works 2.0a, auch "Works for Windows"
genannt, nicht öffnen (Meldung: "Die ausgewählte Datei kann nicht geöffnet werden" u.s.w.). Alle WKS-/WDB-Dateien sind slso nicht gleich.

Gibt es jemand, der mir bei diesem Problem helfen kann?

besteht dein Problem weiterhin?

schau dir folgendes Verzeichnis an.

"C:\Programme\Microsoft Works\" , gibt es in diesem Ordner noch eine Setup.exe ? Wenn ja lasse sie durchlaufen, verfolge den Setup-Assistenten bis zum Schluss.

Teste anschliessend das Startverhalten von Works!

Funktioniert das nicht. Schau dir das Verzeichnis noch einmal an.

"C:\Programme\Microsoft Works\", gibt es in diesem Ordner eine msworks.exe ? Rechte Maustaste "Als Administrator ausfuehren...“ .

Dein Works ist in deiner Windows Vista Recovery integriert. Wenn du eine CD Recovery Version besitzt, schau nach ob du ein Works Verzeichnis auf deiner CD findest. Suche dort erneut die Works Setup Datei und folge dem Assistenten erneut zum Ende.

Funktioniert das alles nicht, koenntest du bei DELL anrufen und nachfragen ob dir eine Works Version erneut zur Verfuegung gestellt werden kann.

Hallo,

Works wird seit vielen Jahren nicht mehr weiterentwickelt und steht auch nicht mehr zum Kauf zur Verfügung.

Works Textdateien lassen sich aber mit Office Word öffnen und wenn du aus Works die Tabellen als .xls exportiert hast können diese Dateien mit Excel geöffnet werden. Kostenlos gibt es da nichts.
